Military Flight Demonstration Teams
Into the Wild Blue YonderThe first airshow is widely acknowledged to have been held at Reims, France in August 1909, where some of Europe's most famous aviators gathered to "wow" the crowds with their new flying machines. One of the first airshows in the United States was held at Los Angeles, California in January 1910, where Glenn Curtiss was among the participants. By 1912, the U.S. Navy staged the first of many simulated dogfights, and things have progressed steadily since then. Today, military flight demonstration (aerobatic) teams are a standard part of the air forces of many nations. This page is a tribute to some of those teams. So, grab hold of your hats and turn your eyes skyward for a fascinating look at some of the world's top military flight demonstration teams. We'll start in the United States and work our way eastward around the globe.
