I'm sure that most fans of the James Bond films have their own favorite Bond girl or girls. In my opinion, one stands out above all the others -- Tracy Di Vincenzo as played by actress Diana Rigg in the film On Her Majesty's Sercret Service. Of course, everyone knows that Diana Rigg immortalized the role of Mrs. Emma Peel in the cult classic TV series The Avengers. In that series, she brought a distinctive level of "class" to the world of spies, and it's that same "class" that she brings to the popular Bond girl mystique. James Bond apparently also thought so, because she was the only one that he fell in love with and asked to be his wife. Bond's feelings after she was killed by a SPECTRE agent were never brought out in succeeding films, but in Ian Fleming's novels, Bond isolated himself after the tragedy to grieve, to collect himself emotionally, and to plot revenge against SPECTRE's head, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. In 1994 Diana Rigg was named Dame Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. In the world of James Bond, she also stands out as a "Dame" among the Bond girls.
