Disney's Animated Classics
Laugh-O-Gram ShortsIn 1922, while still living in Kansas City, Walt Disney produced animated versions of 6 fairy tales, each lasting only a minute. A prominent character in some of the films in this series was a black cat, who would later be developed into Julius the Cat of the Alice Comedies series. The Laugh-O-Gram cartoon series is regarded as Walt's first effort in animation. However, because Walt's distributor defaulted on payments for these animated shorts, his company was forced into bankruptcy.
