Steed's precious belongings are systematically being destroyed, and Purdy is abducted; and Gambit finds out that an old associate of Steed who had defected to the enemy is behind the mayhem seeking revenge for Steed having shot and disabled him 10 years earlier.

Investigating the death of over 40 agents from apparent natural causes, the Avengers independently set their sights on a health farm the victims had visited, and find that "guests" were brainwashed into dying from stress by use of an intricate maze.

A paymaster for informers and his hired hit man attempt to throw Steed off their trail by framing him for the murder of several Ministry accounting department employees; but Gambit and Purdy turn the tables on the criminals.


The Lion and the Unicorn

When an assassination attempt against the Minister by a gang led by the "Unicorn" is unsuccessful and the gang then kidnaps the crown prince, the Avengers travel to France, where they set up a trap for the Unicorn and his gang.

Purdy finds herself having to try stop an attempt by her former fiance to assassinate Arab leaders who years before had been responsible for his father's death.

After a big drug deal goes bad as a result of the Avengers' interference, a Chinese drug lord seeks revenge on them by luring them to his territory, where his men attempt, unsuccessfully, to track them down and kill them.


Hostage

When Purdy is kidnapped and held hostage, Steed appears to follow the kidnapper's order to turn over secret allied attack plans; but with Gambit's help, Steed outwits the evil doers and rescues Purdy.


K Is for Kill (Part 1: The Tiger Awaits)

Mrs. Peel warns Steed of a planned attack by Russian agents that is similar to one they had experiences in 1965, and the Avengers travel to France, where they find themselves in the middle of attacks by Russian agents who appear to age rapidly at the moment of their deaths.


K Is for Kill (Part 2: Tiger by the Tail)
11/04/77

The Avengers discover that the Russian agents are part of a squad of 200 sleeper agents who have been activated and, while these are stopped, two more sleeper agents' mission is to assassinate the French President.


Complex
11/11/77

The Avengers go to Canada to track down clues to the identity of an enemy agent known as Scapina, but when Purdy is trapped inside an ultra-secure building, it becomes apparent that Scapina is really the computer-controlled building, and it intends to kill her.


The Gladiators
11/18/77

Still in Canada, the Avengers are put on the trail of a KGB agent and two supposedly invincible super-trained cohorts, who are on a mission to bring down the Canadian security department.


Forward Base
11/25/77

Tipped off that a Russian agent will be parachuting in with a special package, the Avengers find that the Russians have constructed and are operating a submerged base near the Canadian shores of Lake Ontario.


Emily
12/17/77

The Avengers are on the trail of a courier who is funding the criminal activities of the "Fox" and, with the help of a palm print left by the courier on the top of a car affectionately known as "Emily," prove their hunch that the courier is a corrupt liaison officer between the British and Canadian intelligence offices.
