2005: Magic Kingdom - Part 1

In December 2005, Helena and I had an unplanned extended vacation at Walt Disney World. I had been scheduled for a week of job-related training at an Orlando hotel very close to Walt Disney World, and Helena and i had made plans to work in a few days at Disney World since we were already going to be in the area. However, at the last minute, my training was cancelled, and it would have been difficult for us to change the Disney-related portion of our trip. So, instead, we extended our stay at Disney World. This turned out to be a good decision, because the Disney theme parks were in the middle of celebrating Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, and some of the celebrations carried over to Disney World, with quite a few new attractions and shows. During this trip, Helena and I also made the decision to become Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members, which virtually guarantees that there will be many more Disney vacations in our future. As you'll see in later photo tours, we've already started to make use of our DVC membership through joint visits with other family members, including our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, and my brother and his family.
