Introduction to the Islands
Personal InsightsIf you've visited my page on the Office of Inspector General, you know that I'm an Audit Manager with the U.S. Department of the Interior and that I have oversight responsibility for audits of some of the insulars areas (off-shore territories) of the United States. That includes my home islands of the U.S. Virgin Islands. In this section of Sandcastle V.I., I present overview pages on each of these insular areas, including a little historical background, a few photographs to give you a flavor of each island group and details on where you can get more information. The majority of the information and photos in these overview pages was borrowed (with apologies) from publications of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs. In this section, I also present detailed virtual tours of the three main islands of the U.S. Virgin Islands and some of the islands of the Pacific that I've had the opportunity to visit.
