The second volume in Arnold’s trilogy of My Life in Pictures photobooks continues his family history through the decades of the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to the many photos of family life – focusing on his daughter Selene’s school days and fun family outings – Arnold has included many scenic views of the islands. A number of photo collages also serve to highlight travels away from the islands, both for family vacations and work-related business trips. Of special interest are stunning images showing some of the destruction that Hurricanes Hugo (1989) and Marilyn (1995) caused, not only to Arnold and Helena’s home, but throughout most communities on the island.
During the decades of the 1980s and 1990s, Arnold and Helena also experienced the personal tragedies of losing their fathers and other beloved family members. Thankfully, this time period also had its happy events, including their daughter Selene’s graduation from school and college and her marriage engagement.
